MAKE A WRITTEN, AUDIO, OR VIDEO SUBMISSION

Parliamentary committees may invite written, audio, or video submissions as part of a public consultation. Written submissions may be sent as attachments or as text comments through an online form on the parliamentary committee's website. They can also be sent by lettermail or fax. British Columbians can also have their voice heard by sending in audio or video submissions electronically through the submission form or by lettermail on a CDROM, DVD, or data storage key. Telephone submissions may also be accepted upon request. To make a written, audio, or video submission, you must include your name, email address, mailing address and telephone number, and, if applicable, your organization's name.

COMPLETE AN ON-LINE SURVEY

Some parliamentary committees may invite British Columbians to complete an online survey. A survey may ask participants to answer multiple choice questions, rank their priorities, or provide text comments. Survey questions may also be used to gather input on a discussion paper or proposal by a ministry or government organization. Online surveys are available via the committee's webpage, along with a form for required contact information.

PRESENT AT A PUBLIC HEARING

Parliamentary committees may hold public hearings to hear presentations by individuals and organizations on select issues or topics. Public hearings may be held in Victoria or other community locations. Video conference technology may also be used to reach additional communities. British Columbians are invited to attend the hearings or to register to make a brief presentation to the parliamentary committee. Advance registration is usually required to make a presentation. Generally, ten minutes are allotted for each presentation, followed by an additional five minutes for questions by committee members. PowerPoint presentations are not always possible, so please check in advance to ensure that the required technology is available. Public hearing proceedings are recorded and transcribed by Hansard Services. Following your presentation, a verbatim transcript and audio file of the meeting will be posted to the parliamentary committee's website.
